He’s only after saying he’s ready to leave West Brom, but Simon Cox did his chances of more regular first-team football no harm with a hat-trick against Cardiff yesterday.
It might have only been the FA Cup, but Cardiff are no mugs and have been threatening to make the jump into the top-flight for years. They were humbled at the Hawthorns yesterday, however, thanks to a hat-trick from our own Simon Cox.
Unfortunately, our trawl of the interweb returned no videos of Cox’s heroics, but he took all his goals with aplomb, particularly his second and West Brom’s third in the second half.
It was only the other day that Cox spoke of his willingness to leave the club in order to press his claims for a place in Ireland’s Euro 2012 squad, and as soon as Trap sees the DVD, he’s sure to be impressed.
If Cox can keep up this level of performance, we reckon he should be given a more regular run in the Baggies side, potentially alongside Shane Long up front once he returns from injury.
Do you agree Roy?
Glad that’s all cleared up then.
