Lee Westwood lifted his second PGA Tour title with a play-off victory at the St Jude Classic on Sunday night after American Robert Garrigus capitulated at the final hole.
Garrigus stood on the 18th tee on 13 under par, three clear of the chasing pack, but he hit the water and the trees en route to a triple bogey.
He was joined in the play-off by Westwood and Robert Karlsson, and the Englishman came out on top with a birdie at the fourth extra hole.
The tournament ended a 12-year wait for a second PGA Tour victory for Westwood, who lifted the Freeport-McDermott Classic in New Orleans in 1998.
Rory McIlroy finished eight places off the pace on two-under par with Padraig Harrington, who started the tournament with a five-under 65 on Thursday, slipping to a three-over total of 283.
