As if crashing a rented Lamborghini wasn’t bad enough, a bloke in Australia managed to crash one while on his way to a wedding… but not just any wedding.
The groom crashed his hired Lamborghini Gallardo while on the way to meet his bride at the alter when he lost control on a patch of wet road just west of Sydney. He was already running late for the 3pm wedding when he crashed at around 2.30pm, according to police reports.
Thankfully no one was injured in the crash, but the car was a little worse for wear. According to police the car, worth around €200,000, only suffered minor damages, but according to the company that owns the car, the damages were “worse than expected”.
A representative for the hire company, David Wilkin, said when he arrived at the scene the car was “almost a write off”.
“My heart sank when I saw it, it’s one of my favourites,” Mr Wilkin told Nine News.
The driver, who was already running late for his own wedding, rang the car company after the accident to tell them where they could find their smashed up supercar. He left the scene and ran to the church on foot.
According to reports, he made it in on time.
