Microsoft has confirmed that Kinect, their motion control add-on, will be priced at €149.99 when it launches in Ireland.

The peripheral will come bundled with a copy of Kinect Adventures and will launch sometime in November.

Microsoft also confirmed that a new  Arcade model of its Xbox 360 Slim console will be introduced featuring 4GB of flash memory, Wi-Fi, a port for Kinect and a matte finish that will differentiate it from the glossy 250GB model that went on sale last week.

The new Arcade model will cost just €150 and will go on sale in Ireland on August 20. A bundle which will include the Arcade Xbox 360 Slim and Kinect will be available in November for €299.99. More than 15 games will be available for Kinect at launch and will retail for around €49.99 each.

Today’s announcement ends weeks of speculation about Kinect’s price and will firmly draw the battle lines between Microsoft and Sony, who will be introducing their own motion control solution, Playstation Move, for the PS3 in September.
