Video: Pizza delivery driver subjected to shocking racist abuse in Cork on St. Patrick’s Day

This is shocking stuff.

Unfortunately it’s rare that a St. Patrick’s Day passes without an unsavoury incident or two, but unsavoury doesn’t do justice to an incident that occurred in Blackpool in Cork in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A pizza delivery driver in the area, Simon Njenga, posted the footage below to his Facebook page earlier this week and according to the Irish Mirror, it took place after he was confronted by two men who wanted to be brought into Cork city centre and mistakenly thought he was a taxi driver.

Njenga was subjected to some quite awful racist abuse from one of the men, which Njenga managed to record on his phone.

Be warned, this is not pretty.

Speaking to Neil Prendeville on Cork’s Red FM about the incident, Njenga said: “I didn’t talk to him but he just got more aggressive.

“I started looking for my phone but I just couldn’t locate it, I decided that I would film it in case anything happened.”

“He said he was going to break my jaw, I got scared because I had already rolled down my window.

“I just didn’t know what I could do next.”

“It was horrible, there is no point in abusing someone for nothing, I did nothing to deserve that,” Njenga added.

“I was abused because of the colour of my skin, it’s horrible and there was nothing I could do about it. It scared me.”

Horrible stuff.
