Weather warnings for several Irish counties are in place as Storm Abigail is set to hit

Take care out there.

The winds sure mean business across several counties in Ireland this week, as Storm Abigail is expected to pass through the country.

Met Éireann have issued a Status Orange warning for Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo and Galway until 6am on Friday morning, with winds forecast between 100 and 120 km/h.

Meanwhile, Munster, Leinster, Monaghan, Roscommon and Cavan have been given a Status Yellow warning, as winds between 90 and 100 km/h are expected until 6am on Friday morning.
