Na, we’re grand Mr Sun. Take the weekend off.
Over the course of this week, we’ve seen the very best in Irish history and culture but there’s no escaping the undeniable fact that our weather is atrocious. What’s that? Bears do in fact crap in the woods. If you’re making plans for the weekend though then you might want to keep this information in mind.
We’re confident in saying that this weather report is 100% accurate because meteorologists are never wrong. See, Axel Foley agrees.

There’s a chance of flooding in some areas today as the rain looks set to become widespread and persistent throughout the morning and afternoon. If you happen to live in a mountainous/coastal area that’s located in the west or south of Ireland then take note because these areas will be the worst affected.
Gale force winds are also expected but they should die down as the afternoon approaches.

Saturday will see a cloudy but mostly dry morning in northern and western areas. However, rain will move up from the southeast becoming widespread across the country by the afternoon. The rain will be persistent and heavy in south Munster and south Leinster, possibly leading to more flooding problems here.
Will any of this actually happen? Dafuq if we know.
Things are expected to pick up on Sunday though with drier conditions and some sunny spells in the east. It’s set to be rather cloudy and cool over the western half of the country although there’s going to be some coastal rain in the south and east. Elsewhere, it’s mostly dry.
Typical, the one day when everyone wants to be lazy actually looks like having some decent weather. We’re just being trolled at this stage.
