Kerry man Darren Mullery was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but as this brilliant and heart-warming video shows, he’s not going to take the diagnosis lying down.
Darren, from Tralee, recently found out that he had pancreatic cancer when his wife Danielle was pregnant with their first child. Learning that you have cancer could prove a tough blow to the strongest of personalities, but Darren responded in incredibly brave fashion, calling on the help of some friends and the Tralee Musical Society to produce an uplifting video illustrating how he intends to fight the disease.
By making the video, Darren hopes that whoever sees it and is going through a hard time will get some kind of hope and courage from it and he hopes to show them that even in hard times you can still keep fighting and have fun when you can. Even if it helps one person get out of bed to fight another day then the video will have worked in Darren’s book.
The video is truly a courageous act by Darren, his family and friends and you’d want to have a heart of stone not to be moved by it; fair play to Darren and everyone involved for putting together such an inspirational piece of footage.
