Retired AFL star Ben Cousins‘ notoriety has now hit such heights that he has joined the elite club of celebrities to be killed off by Twitter.
The Twittersphere was abuzz over the weekend with rumours that the recently retired football star had died.
“FaceBook is being dominated as we speak with rumours of a Ben Cousins death..!!!! can anyone varify this ???,” jjkobe tweeted.
“Heard rumours ben cousins has had a drug overdose or died? or just another false story?” @johnjnr posted.
But the claims were quickly exposed as a hoax after Melbourne radio station 3AW called Cousins’ father Bryan, who said Ben was alive and well and currently holidaying in his home town of Perth.
