The outages were mainly in the Co. Cork area this morning.

2,200 homes and buildings were without power this morning as the ESB issued an apology and assured people that they are working on repairing the issue.

Carrigaline in Cork is the worst affected area, with smaller outages in Waterford, Westmeath, Sligo and Clare.

Power was lost at around 5am this morning and and should be restored at around 8:45am.

The ESB told their customers: “We apologise for the loss of supply. “We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible.”
