It was the 13th win of the EuroMillions Plus draw in Ireland 2017 alone.
There was no winner of Tuesday night’s Euromillions jackpot of just over €38 million, but one Irish punter will have woken up very happy on Wednesday morning nonetheless.
The punter in question scooped the top prize of €500,000 in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Tuesday night, having picked up a Quick Pick ticket at Paul Hogan’s Service Station on the Gort Road in Ennis in Clare earlier in the day.
This is the 13th time in 2017 alone that an Irish player has won the top prize of €500,000 in the EuroMillions Plus draw, which costs €1 extra per line.
Speaking after the massive win for the Ennis store was confirmed, the manager of Paul Hogan’s Service Station, Gina O’Sullivan said: “This is wonderful news for the area and the shop is already buzzing with customers coming in to check their tickets in the hope that they might have won the half million euro prize.
“As we are located en route to the popular tourist spot of Lahinch, we have a lot of passing trade, but we also have a lot of local customers who would be regular Lottery players.
“We are urging all of our customers to carefully check their tickets and come join our celebrations in-store throughout the day. Whoever the lucky winner is, we wish them every bit of luck with their new found fortune.”
In case it could possibly be you – the last Irish couple to win the €500,000 prize found it amongst the rubbish in their car after all – the winning EuroMillions Plus numbers were: 5, 9, 19, 27 and 30.
If it is you, then you should sign the back of the ticket and contact the National Lottery Prize Claims Team on (01) 836 4444. And then come and buy us a pint.
Friday’s EuroMillions jackpot is set to be in region of €50 million.
