Facebook set to check-in to Meath with brand new €200m data centre

The social media behemoths have an eye on the Royal County as a base for their data centre.

Facebook are expected to lodge a planning application with the Meath County Council today for a new data centre with the promise of new jobs.

The plans for the centre, to be located in Clonee, had been revealed last week by the company and will be Facebook’s second European data centre.

Hundreds of temporary construction jobs will be created and dozens of permanent jobs in the centre upon completion.
