Something a little bit different.
The Gardai have given their verdict following an internal investigation after an alleged incident where a female garda reportedly asked a group of men to strip in the local station to avoid a traffic offence.
The three men were returning from a gig in Meath when they were pulled over. It was alleged that the officer offered the men a chance to dance their way out of the penalty points or fine.
According to The Sunday Times, the men took the Garda up on their offer but the incident got out of control when a female officer accidentally hurt her back while the stripper performed to the song Pony by hiphop artist Ginuwine.
The internal investigation has stated that the incident was reported to senior management by other officers and that “it was an inappropriate joke”. The investigation also stated that any reports that the dancer was asked to perform or receive a fine were “simply untrue”.
While the incident didn’t involve any bribery or serious wrongdoing, it’s understood that the officers could be facing further disciplinary procedures.
