This sort of behaviour is unacceptable.
The Jazz Festival was on in Cork last weekend and it was a major success by all accounts, but a 20-year-old local girl will remember it for all the wrong reasons.
Laura Duncliffe was out with her friends on Sunday night and unfortunately she was the victim of shocking sexual harassment on the street.
Laura explained exactly what happened on her Facebook page.
“Suddenly, I felt one of the men come right up behind me and pull my skirt up around me. All his group of friends obviously jeered him on and praised him as if that was an act he should be proud of.”
Unbelievable.
Her.ie shared the story with their readers earlier and we felt it was important to share it with our audience as well.
It’s an unfortunate follow-on from a story we published last week about a woman being harassed on the streets of Dublin.
Our message is clear on this – this sort of behaviour isn’t cool, funny or clever; it’s idiotic and disgusting and shouldn’t be happening on our streets.
