It might be time to get a ticket.
For the majority of people, their World Cup sweepstakes didn’t quite work out the way they planned but the Lotto have the next best thing.
Actually, scratch the hell out of that statement because their latest jackpot blows the hell out of your office pool. Granted, it’s still not enough to buy Kylian Mbappé but it’s very, very tidy.
Wednesday’s Lotto Jackpot has soared to an incredible €6.5 million – that makes it one of the highest rolls of the year.
A winner of this mega prize would be the 1,745th player to land a Lotto jackpot since the game started over 30 years ago, the National Lottery revealed today.
“The Lotto jackpot has been rolling since Wednesday 20th June and is now at an estimated €6.5 million. Over the last 30 years we have had 1,744 Lotto jackpot winners scooping dream prizes totalling over €2.5 billion. We would love to have another winner Wednesday,” a spokesperson said.
The highest Jackpot win was a mega €18,963,441 won in June 2008 by a syndicate in Carlow.
Meanwhile, the National Lottery has again appealed to Lotto players in Wicklow to check their tickets as the deadline for a €90,987 prize, won on May 5th expires in just over a weeks’ time on Friday 3rd August.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Thursday, 3 May at Stanley’s ‘Cards N Things’ store in the Tesco Shopping Centre in Greystones, Co. Wicklow.
The winning Lotto numbers for the draw on Saturday, 5 May were: 13, 19, 30, 36, 41, 47 and the Bonus 09.
