It’s a good job they got there when they did.
The ISPCA recently managed to rescue two severely malnourished Jack Russell Terriers in Wicklow, who would not have survived for much longer had they not been rescued in time.
The ISPCA today released photos of the Jack Russell terriers, who were so severely malnourished that their bones were visible through their skin.
SPCA Chief Inspector Conor Dowling responded to a call regarding the two Jack Russell Terriers, a mother and daughter, in Wicklow recently and was shocked to discover them living in a dirty garden and by the condition he found the dogs in.

Inspector Dowling said: “It was immediately apparent that both dogs were severely malnourished, all of their bones were visible through their skin.”

The dogs, named Daisy and Diva, were surrendered to the care of the ISPCA and transported for immediate veterinary treatment, and later transferred to the ISPCA National Animal Centre for rehabilitation once they were well enough for rehoming.
“I’m just glad that we received the call in time”, added Chief Inspector Dowling. “These dogs were in such poor condition, I’m not sure how much longer they would have survived.”
Diva the puppy has already found a new home and the ISPCA are now appealing for a new home for Daisy, who they describe as “a very friendly and outgoing little dog” and who “will make a fantastic addition to any family”.

If you have room in your home and heart for Daisy, your new best friend could be waiting at the ISPCA National Animal Centre.
