Start checking those tickets.

While the majority of the Irish public woke up in their warm and cosy bed to check the outcome of Conor McGregor’s fight, one person in Kerry could have been greeted by far more euphoric news.

Granted, this person could be a Khabib-loving UFC fan from the Kingdom, but in the event that they’re not, we’re certain that €250,000 is a nice sum to soften the blow of McGregor’s defeat.

And then some.

The Lotto have revealed that a winning ticket to the sum of €250,000 on Lotto Plus 2 Draw was sold in Kerry and the winner is believed to be a local.

The winning ticket was sold in Eagers of High Street, Killarney.

Delighted shop owner, Pat Duggan, said that “this is our first big Lotto win and we are absolutely thrilled. Word is spreading now amongst customers and we really hope it is a local winner. Killarney is a very busy town with a lot of visitors but my shop has a strong local trade.”

The National Lottery are appealing to all of its Kerry players to check their tickets and see if they are holders of this golden ticket. This being said, the ticket could have been bought by someone that was travelling through Killarney, so check those tickets.

The winning Lotto Plus 2 numbers are: 3, 6, 19, 21, 35, 43, and bonus no 11.

As for the overall jackpot of €2m, it wasn’t won so next Wednesday’s jackpot is expected to increase to €2.5m.
