Now, that’s what we call an eclipse.
So the solar eclipse turned out to be a bit of an anti-climax for most of us this morning because, as is often the case in Ireland, the clouds got in the way.
The people who know their way around a camera, on the other hand, managed to get a better look at it than most of us and the folks at Dog Day Media did a good job of capturing the rare astronomical event.
The footage above was recorded by William Bean from the clock tower in the University College Cork campus and despite the clouds, the results were pretty spectacular.
