Flying saucers over Kildare and Wicklow?

There have been some unusual goings-on in the skies over Kildare and Wicklow over the weekend. At first, the sightings were claimed as UFOs but Irish Weather Online were on the scene fast to say witnesses were clouded concerning what they saw.

You see what I did there, I’m sure. But as for the snaps, taken by Sharon Kearney, it’s easy to see that it’s just lenticular cloud formations, right? We knew that along.

To the untrained eye, these clouds are more commonly seen in the skies over Ireland during summer (which has mysteriously disappeared this year) and are usually located near mountain summits, according to Irish Weather Online.

We can’t claim to know a whole heap about cloud formations, all we do know is that these pics are, like, OMG totally awesome.
