Batten down the hatches.
Met Éireann has issued a status orange wind warning for the whole country this morning.
Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo are the areas expected to be worst hit by the stormy weather.
They say the winds could reach gale force tonight but Wednesday will be worse as gusts of between 100 to 130 km/hr are likely to develop in coastal areas.
The warning will be in effect from 8am this morning until 8am Thursday morning.
An orange weather warning should be taken seriously because it indicates that the conditions with impact significantly on people in the affected areas.
