The rough weather battering the country is to continue today and Met Éireann have issued an orange weather alert predicting winds of 130km/h for Connacht, Donegal and Clare.
The high swells promised mean that that there is a chance of coastal flooding and when you look at this graphic of the approaching swells, you will understand why. This is what the swells coming into Ireland look like today…
Just in case you don’t understand the above info graphic, the darker the colours, the worse the swells are. And you may have guessed, the black is very bad, meaning swells 50 feet high or more.
Met Eireann are warning of high winds and and thundery showers over the next few hours so it is important to take care when travelling and be safe.
