It’s looking like a sunny Christmas for most of the country, although it will be cold.
There will be challenging conditions for anyone out driving on Christmas Day, but it will come in the form of freezing fog and not wintry showers.
“There’ll be spots of frost in places in the mornings and there will be showers in counties Sligo, Mayo and Donegal. But the rest of the country should be dry,” a Met Eireann forecaster said.
Highest temperatures across the country will be around the 6 degrees mark.
There will be rain in western and northern parts of the country on Christmas Eve, but these will die out.
After a foggy and frosty start on Christmas morning, sunny spells are expected across the country.
Rain and high winds are expected to sweep the country throughout St. Stephen’s Day, so find yourself a nice pub corner for the evening.
