Wind, rain and snow set to batter Ireland on Sunday night

Three weather warnings, no less

Tony Cuddihy

This nonsense again.

Met Éireann have issued a status orange weather warning across the west of the country this evening, with winds expected to reach between 110km/h and 130km/h.

A yellow wind warning is in place across Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Tipperary and Waterford, with winds expected to reach 90km/h to 110km/h.

Finally, there’s a snow and ice warning for parts of Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.

The first alert comes into effect at 9pm this evening, while Clare County Council has issued a wind and coastal flood warning.

They are warning householders whose properties have flooded in the past to be vigilant.
