It looks like the rain is here to stay over the weekend

It's Ireland, what else did we expect?

It’s Ireland, what else did we expect?

It seems that the arrival of the Leaving Cert hasn’t coincided with an upswing in the weather which is probably the only comfort that secondary-school students doing their exams can find right now.

Met Eireann have stated that it’s going to rain in the east and north this morning but things should clear up in the afternoon with only a few scattered showers.

In the northwest, the rain will last longer though with heavy spells expected later today. Umbrella’s at the ready then.

Many areas around the country should be dry tonight as the skies are expected to clear, however, heavy and prolonged showers will continue in the northwest and north.

Standard weather update for people that live in the area then.

As for tomorrow, Saturday will see sunny spells and sporadic showers but this is expected to die out during the night. Yeah, the weatherman is always right.

Sunday should be dry in most areas with sunny spells throughout the day. Highest temperatures are expected to reach 13 to 17 degrees with mainly light breezes.

Still though, it’s still be a good idea to wrap up if you’re out and about this weekend.
