But don’t get too excited, because you’ll probably need the umbrella too.
Met Éireann’s Gerald Fleming may have rubbished any talk of a heatwave heading Ireland’s way this week, but there is still some good news on the weather front this week.
Temperatures are set to soar into the 30s across the water – just in time for Wimbledon, as it happens – and while we won’t be experiencing anything like that, it’s still going to be very warm indeed.
According to Met Eireann, temperatures as high as 25 degrees are expected in some areas in the east and the midlands and even in the west and the southwest, where it will be cooler, it’s still expected to reach 20 degrees.
It’s also expected to be humid as hell, with the possibility of thundery showers throughout the country, conditions which will extend into Wednesday, when the mercury is again predicted to hit as high as 25 degrees.
Before you get the barbies and the beer out, however, be warned that it will mostly be cloudy all along the western seaboard with a strong possibilty of drizzle and showers throughout the day.
It’s expected to get a little cooler by the end of the week, with a return to the ‘four seasons in one day’ conditions predicted for the weekend.
That’s Ireland for you.
