It doesn’t look like there’s going to be much rain, so that’s a positive…

So it’s a bumper weekend of sporting and musical action and the only way that this weekend could be any better, is if we get the best weather of the year.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen, but it may dry at least.

Met Éireann are reporting that rain is unlikely to be a huge problem around the country this weekend ahead of Electric Picnic and the games in Croke Park.

Friday will be cool and cloudy but there will be some bright, sunny spells coming up from the South throughout the day. It will be dry in many places but there may be some scattered showers in the morning and afternoon.

Temperatures will be a moderate 14-17 degrees celsius throughout the day but will drop to between 5-10 degrees overnight with some patchy drizzle.

Saturday will be dry with temperatures not getting past 17 degrees celsius in the afternoon but there will be little chance of showers thankfully.

Sunday is going to be cloudy with temperatures remaining in the mid-teens and there will be a chance of some scattered shower in the afternoon.

But overall, it will be dry and should be near ideal conditions for Electric Picnic and indeed, Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.
