Cold weather is expected to be back with a bang in Ireland next week

Tony Cuddihy

Hope you’re enjoying this mini-summer while it lasts.

Cold weather is expected to return across the country next week, spelling the end of the fine weather we have enjoyed over the last week.

While Sunday is expected to cloudier and cooler than in recent days, it is expected to remain dry with highest temperatures of 11C.

Monday will begin with rain and mist, which will clear up later in the day, but Tuesday will see showers of hail and sleet as temperatures hover around the 7C mark.

The rest of the week is expected to be cold and unsettled, with frosty nights ahead.
