Sunday’s warm and sunny weather to stretch well into next week

Tony Cuddihy

If you’re planning a few days off work this week, we have some very good news.

Temperatures are expected to remain high during the week as Sunday became the warmest day of the year in many parts of the country.

“Most areas will have sunny spells or hazy sunshine but fog or patchy drizzle may impinge some coastal areas and upslopes,” Met Éireann said.

Temperatures are expected to hit 26 degrees on Monday, and 27 degrees on Tuesday, but it will get cooler on Wednesday as temperatures drop to the high teens and low twenties.

There will be fresher, and less humid, weather in the later part of the week.

“There will be some warm sunny spells but a risk also of some heavy showers breaking out,” Met Éireann said.
