There was no blanket of snow covering the ground when Ireland woke up on Christmas morning…
However, some parts of Ireland will get snow later on this week according to Met Éireann‘s latest forecast update. The report says Thursday will see “Outbreaks of rain and sleet will develop here, falling as snow over high ground. ”
It’s not the snow we’re worried about though, with Wednesday set to see “Lowest temperatures of zero to -4 degrees with icy roads and possibly some patches of freezing fog also.”
Drivers can expect conditions of ice and fog to stretch all the way into Thursday morning before clearing up. Thursday night will have lows of between zero and -1 degrees.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the weather will remain cold until the end of the week, and the country can expect temperatures of between one and four degrees on Friday.
