Parts of Ireland looks set to get a break from the heatwave as ‘cooler weather’ is expected

Paul Moore

Don’t worry, the sunshine is coming back though.

Think it’s possible to have too much of a good thing? Well, when it comes to Ireland and decent weather, we’re firmly of the opinion that the answer is no. We all can still vividly remember the Beast from the East, so in our view, this recent heatwave is more than welcome.

This being said, it would be nice to fall asleep without having every single window in the bedroom opened and on that note, some people are even hoping for rain.

Not loads of rain, but just enough. A grand amount of rain, if you will.

Anyways, if the recent good weather is starting to get to you, you’ll be pleased to know that the mercury is set to slightly drop in some places around Ireland today.

The people at Met Éireann have said that today will be : “Dry in most areas, with a little hazy sunshine, mainly in the south and southeast this morning. Otherwise mostly cloudy, with a little patchy mist or drizzle, mainly in western coastal areas this morning.”

Here’w how we’re picturing people after that first little drop of drizzle falls.

Anyways, maximum temperatures will range from 16 to 21 celsius in the southwest, west and north, but it will be quite warm elsewhere, with values of 22 to 26 celsius, warmest in the south and southeast. Winds mostly light to moderate, northwesterly in direction.

Tonight should be mainly dry, with some clear spells developing. This being said, a few spots of mist or drizzle may develop along western coasts. Minimum temperatures 8 to 14 celsius, coolest in the northwest and west.

Fear not all you sunshine lovers because the heatwave is here to stay for another few days.

Friday will be mostly dry, with a little hazy sunshine at times, but some cloudier intervals also, with a few patches of mist or drizzle along west and southwest coasts early on. Maximum temperatures 21 to 25 celsius inland, but a little cooler in coastal areas, with sea breezes.

It’s pretty much the same conditions for Friday night although it’s set to become cloudier in the west and north, with possibly a little patchy mist or drizzle near west and northwest coasts.

Looking ahead into Saturday, it’s set to be dry in most areas, with good sunshine and mostly light southerly or variable breezes. The west and north will be mostly cloudy , with a flew spots of drizzle, mainly in coastal areas. Very warm in Leinster, east Ulster and in much of Munster, with maximum temperatures in the mid to high 20s, but not as warm in the southwest, west and northwest, with values of 17 to 22 celsius.

The week is also going to end well because Sunday is expected to be very warm, with some hazy sunshine, but cloudier in the north and northwest, with a small chance of a few light showers. Max. 24 to 28 celsius, but cooler in coastal areas, especially on Atlantic coasts.
