Take note if you’re out and about.
Heading out into town with your glad rags on? Fancy a quiet one in the local with your mates? Staying indoors but heading out later to see the neighbours to wish them a happy new year? Whatever your plans are, here’s what’s in store on the weather front.

Thankfully, these cloudy conditions aren’t expected to last because some short bright and short sunny spells should develop this evening.
The evening of New Year’s Eve is set to be dry and cloudy at first but a band of thicker cloud with patchy outbreaks of light rain and drizzle will extend slowly southwards over Ulster from around midnight, followed by clearer skies.
If you’re nursing a hangover on New Year’s Day, you’ll be pleased to know that you won’t be missing out on much as you watch Netflix and get stuck into a pizza.
Tomorrow morning will see some patches of light rain and drizzle across central parts of the country.
These conditions should improve by Tuesday night though with sunshine developing.
Overall, the next two days are set to see dry weather but there’s an increased risk of frost – mainly on Tuesday night.
Whatever your plans are, enjoy the new year’s celebrations.
