The weather for the rest of the week is set to be literally freezing

Carl Kinsella

We’re in for some very cold nights.

According to Met Éireann, Ireland is looking at some literally freezing temperatures over the next few days.

The latest forecast suggests that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night will all see the temperature drop below zero degrees, with frost forming on the ground.

Tonight (2 January), we can expect some frost to form under clear spells in parts of the north and east with temperatures lowering minus 1 to plus 3 degrees.

Unfortunately, the weather is set to continue much in that vein. On Thursday, lowest temperatures will range minus 1 to plus 4 degrees, “with a risk of a ground frost under longer clearer periods in eastern and northern counties.”

It will be chilly again on Friday night, especially in parts of the north and east with temperatures falling to between minus 1 and plus 3 degrees under clear spells with frosts forming.

As it stands, it’s going to be a week for the hot water bottle and risking being that one guy who brings a blanket to the office.
