Will this poxy winter never end?
A new wind warning has been issued for across the country for tonight and tomorrow morning.
The warning has been issued by Met Éireann for the entire country and runs between 10pm tonight and 10am on Wednesday.
A band of rain passed over the country on Tuesday afternoon, with drier conditions expected this even before the wet conditions return.
“Strong southwest winds will continue for a time before gradually easing and veering westerly,” read the Met Éireann website.
“Showers or longer spells of rain nationwide this afternoon.
“The rain will be most persistent across southern counties while further north it will become drier temporarily during the later afternoon and evening.
“Some brighter or sunny spells will develop but overall it will be rather cloudy. Highest temperatures 12 or 13 degrees.
“A spell of persistent and heavy rain will develop tonight with some heavy falls in Munster, Connacht and Ulster. The rain will break up again in to more showery conditions towards morning.
“Southwesterly winds will increase becoming strong to gale force, veering northwesterly with the clearance.
“Rather mild through the night with temperatures not falling lower than 11 or 12 degrees in most areas, but it will turn cooler when the rain clears with lows of 4 to 6 degrees in the northwest in the morning.”
