Brace yourselves – it’s about to get very wet with the possibility of flash floods

We really need to start carrying an umbrella.

We really need to start carrying an umbrella.

Dublin is bracing itself for wet and windy weather on Thursday night, with a Status Yellow warning issued by Met Eireann and high tides expected.

Some flooding is expected, with Dublin City Council issuing the following warning:

“Following receipt of a rainfall warning for the Dublin Area from Met Éireann, and because of a very high tide due at 11 pm tonight, Dublin City Council will be deploying staff at Clontarf, Sandymount, Fitzwilliam Quay and Cardiff Lane as a precautionary measure.

“The flood gates on the River Dodder will be closed and the car park at Clontarf closed.”

The heaviest of the rain is expected to hit between 6pm this evening and 2am on Friday morning.
