Stay indoors next weekend, folks, the weather’s going to turn manky.
Anyone hoping that the weather would take a turn for the exotic now that the kids are back in school should prepare for disappointment.
Cold, wet weather is set to envelop the country next weekend after a relatively dry few days at the start of the week.
“In terms of the weather this week, it’s a gradual movement from dry, relatively warm weather to a colder, wetter weekend,” forecaster Gerry Murphy told independent.ie.
“It will be pleasant and dry for today and tomorrow with temperatures falling between 14 and 18 degrees.”
Then, the bad news, as rain sweeps over the country.
“On Thursday, there will also be a good deal of dry weather but we can expect rain along the west coast come Thursday night. This will become more persistent as we move into Friday,” said Murphy.
Heavy downpours are then expected over the weekend.
