Here’s what the weather looks like this coming week

Paul Moore

After the recent heatwave, here’s what’s in store.

Well, it was grand while it lasted. After a few days of glorious sunshine, it appears that the weather conditions around Ireland are expected to revert to normal from this evening onwards.

Here’s what the people at Met Éireann are predicting for the coming few days.

Tonight is expected to be cloudy with rain developing in the west after midnight. These conditions are due to spread eastwards, reaching the east coast around dawn. Clearer weather will develop in western areas. Lowest temperatures 8 to 10 degrees.

As for Tuesday morning, the rain in the east will clear and the afternoon is shaping up to be decent with sunny spells. This being said, some areas might have to endure occasional showers. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degree.

Conditions are expected to deteriorate on Tuesday night though as “cloudy wet weather will move in off the Atlantic, to affect the western half of the country before morning. Lowest temperatures 5 to 8 C.”

It’s going to be a similar story on Wednesday with “breezy and wet weather across the country, until about mid-afternoon. A clearance to bright spells and scattered showers will spread from the west later in the afternoon.”

Things should pick up on Thursday afternoon though with sunny spells although scattered showers will arrive in some places. Highs of 11 to 13 C., in moderate southwest to westerly winds.

As for Friday, well it appears that the weekend is going to get off to a bad start because “a spell of windy and very wet weather is expected in off the Atlantic and this will affect the country for much of Friday, with some heavy rain in places at times. Clearer more showery weather is set to develop overnight on Friday.”

Here’s hoping that the coming weekend will be better. Our advice is to make the most of the warm conditions while you can.
