Here’s what the weekend weather forecast looks like

Paul Moore

Seven counties have been issued a weather warning.

The nice people at Met Éireann have once again lied to us all provided us with an 100% accurate weather forecast for the weekend ahead and here’s what it looks like.

There’s currently weather warnings in place for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry today.

The Status Yellow wind warning, issued at 11am this morning, warns of gusts of up to 100 km/h and it’s up until 6pm tomorrow.

Elsewhere, today will start mainly dry in central and eastern areas. However, wet and windy weather in coastal counties will become widespread by early afternoon. The rain will begin to move eastwards later in the day as the winds begin to die down, though southwest gales will continue to affect the north and northwest coast until after dark.

All over the country, it’s expected to be dry tonight with another cool evening. Temperatures ranging from 7 to 11 degrees.

It’s a good thing that Saturday is a rather brilliant sporting day because scattered showers are predicted for the afternoon. It’s expected to be dry on Saturday evening though with just a few showers on the Atlantic coast.

The forecast for Sunday is a bit all over the place. It looks like rain will develop in the west with a risk of spot flooding, but the east will stay dry. On Sunday night, rain is likely to linger and affect many parts of the country.

In a nutshell, Sunday’s weather has no idea what the hell it wants to be.
