There’s also a risk of spot flooding.

While the majority of the country will be spending their Saturday morning curled up on the sofa as they watch Ireland vs Japan, it might be a good idea to stay on the couch, especially if you’re living in Munster, Carlow, Kilkenny, and Wexford.

That’s because Met Éireann have issued a status yellow rainfall warning for all nine counties.

They state that the areas are expected to see “heavy rain at times with amounts of 25 to 40 mm and a risk of spot flooding. Rain will be heaviest from this afternoon to tonight.

The warning is valid from Saturday, 28 September at 12:00 until Sunday, 29 September at 12:00.

This particular warning follows one that was issued yesterday to four counties that spanned the south coast: Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Wexford.

Aside from this rainfall warning, there’s a status yellow small craft warning in place too.

It states that “westerly winds will reach force 6 or 7 for a time this morning on coasts from Carlingford Lough to Carnsore Pt to Mizen Head. Southwest to northeast winds will reach force 6 or 7 this evening and early tonight on coasts from Carlingford Lough to Roches Pt to Slyne Head.”
