Met Éireann has issued a fresh status orange wind warning for 13 counties this morning.
The warning, which was issued at 8am on Saturday morning, covers Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Westmeath, Meath and Clare.
Ireland will be hit hard by Storm Dylan over the coming weekend, with Met Éireann warning that “Tonight and Sunday morning storm Dylan will track northeastwards close to Connacht and Ulster coasts.”
“The biggest impact from the storm will be in western and northern counties with west to southwest winds reaching mean speeds of 65 to 80 km/h with gusts of 110 to 125 km/h. High seas along the west coast too with the risk of coastal flooding.”
Met Éireann had originally issued a status yellow warning for the storm, but upgraded it this morning. They also extended it from 6am on Sunday to 10am on Sunday. The warning will come into effect at 9pm tonight.
