Beats the wind and the rain anyway.
So mad has the weather been in the last few weeks that we wouldn’t rule out an unseasonable mid-February heatwave at this stage, but, alas, the conditions around these parts have been more wintry than wonderful of late.
Miserable as it’s been, there’s rarely a time in Ireland when a little bit of snow goes unwelcomed and it turns out that quite a lot of the white stuff has been falling out west today, with reports of heavy snowfall throughout Mayo, particularly, judging by these pictures at least, in the area around Westport.

We hate to spoil the fun of those planning on building snowmen, having snowball fights and, ahem, making some yellow snow, but with more wind and rain promised over the next few days it’s highly unlikely to stick for too long so enjoy it while it lasts, while also, of course, being extra careful on the roads when travel is necessary.
