There’s good and bad news on the weather front in the next few days

Tony Cuddihy

High temperatures, but you’ll need to bring that umbrella.

Disclaimer: We’ll be very happy to be proven wrong on a lot of this.

Anyone heading to Bruce Springsteen at Croke Park this Friday should be in for a dry night, but the rest of the weekend will bring spells of heavy rain amid the sunshine.

While today will be mostly cloudy, with light rain in some parts of the country, Friday will see an improvement with spells of hazy sunshine, although there will be isolated showers in southern and western counties.

Temperatures are expected to hit the high teens over the weekend – they could even reach as high as 20 degrees – but these higher temperatures could spell bad news as they will cause heavy showers to break out spontaneously.

In other news, we’re getting sunshine, heavy showers, possibly thunder, maybe lightning, the whole shebang this weekend.

And no heatwave.
