VIDEO: Incredible footage of the effect Storm Henry is having on the Donegal coastline today

Conor Heneghan

Would you look the size of those waves?

Earlier today, we brought you pictures of the impact that Storm Henry is having on Inishbofin today and it’s not any calmer a little further up the coast in Donegal.

JOE reader Iain Miller sent us on footage he recorded along An Port coast in south-west Donegal today, from a vantage point on the cliffs 200 metres above the Atlantic Ocean below.

Iain told us that the winds reached speeds of 140 km/h at times, making it virtually impossible to stand, while salt spray splattered up from the sea right to the top of the cliffs.

The average height of the waves was approximately 15 metres when Iain recorded the footage this afternoon and by the sound of the forecast, not much will change by tonight either.

It’s going to be a wild one.

Cheers to Iain Miller for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102, editorial@JOE.ie or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter.
