‘Tis fierce windy out.
As you’ve probably seen for yourself, today has been mighty windy all over the country with winds of up to and even in excess of 100 km/h in places.
As you might expect, towns and villages on the Atlantic coast often feel the effects of the inclement weather more than most and that was certainly the case at Roonagh Pier in Mayo earlier today.
You can see why there were no sailings today. Yikes!
Sadly, it doesn’t look like conditions are going to improve anytime soon.
Met Eireann are predicting further severe gusts tonight, as well as scattered sleet and snow showers in places and temperatures as low as zero to three degrees Celsius.
